Review: 'The Amazing Spider-Man' -- it's the best Spidey film yet

The reboot is strong, bold and well-acted. Its main problem — besides a bloated running time and only adequate 3-D — is that you can’t help but experience pangs of deja vu for Sam Raimi’s quite good ‘Spider-Man,’ which debuted on the screen about a decade ago.

The Birth Post

I’m not even sure how to find the words to describe childbirth. The helpless feeling of having to endure wave after wave of the full effects of the almighty force in your body can feel extraordinarily frightening. For a short time, though it seemed like an eternity, I felt like a caged animal as I struggled to manage the hideous levels of pain at the peak of labour, coupled w 5;th the exhaustion of staying awake for such a long period.

But then….
But then……

Our darling daughter Sophie was born
and delivered straight into my outstretched arms.
Warm, wet and adorable.

The memory of it makes me want to cry.

Safe.
Soft.
Healthy.
Loved.

Who could truly ask for any more?
To see her sweetly innocent face,
newly emerged,
staring up at us,
formed out of our love for each other:
my love for her daddy,
and his incredible love for me,
was the best moment of my life.

Beautiful summer flower cupcakes plus dress topper and cat cutout brownies

These beautiful cupcakes are all by London (UK) custom dessert company MonDelish, via their Flickr account. I love how delicate the flowers look; the bouquet in the fourth photo is probably my favorite, but they all are charming to me. MonDelish can be reached at michelle at mondelish.com or 04 3966 4883, and you can al so find them on Facebook.

Cute cupcake toppers:

We vary rarely post non-cupcake items here, being that this blog is called Cupcakes Take the Cake, but once in a while I see something so amazing I just feel the need to share it. Plus it’s possible this silhouette effect could be recreated on a cupcake, right? I mean, cat brownies! Who knew? Love it!

My gorgeous Sophie.

See my tummy growing

Quite, quite enormous.

Who’d have thought that
this gorgeous girl
was hiding in there all that time?

A complete miracle, if you ask me.
Now, do we know one another
