John T Briggs of Rochester, New York and Chicago, Illinois

John T. Briggs of Rochester, New York; Chicago, Illinois–sometime around 1852 the firm of Rapalje & Briggs split into two different companies, the John T. Briggs New Seed Store and the Genesee Seed Store under the management of John Rapalje & Co. The John Briggs firm later became known as Briggs & Bros. The Briggs firm eventually had offices in both Rochester and Chicago. They offered a yearly catalog and an occasional large floral print. The floral print they issued in 1872 was of exceptional quality.
